Why do you sometimes write Zeta without the 'e'? ZTA are the Greek letters Zeta, Tau, and Alpha. This is the official name of our women's fraternity. "Zeta" is the nickname of our social club. We usually abbreviate Zeta Tau Alpha to ZTA or call it by its nickname for efficiency. The purpose of Zeta Tau Alpha is the intensifying of friendship, the fostering of a spirit of love, the creating of such sentiments, the performing of such deeds, and the moulding of such opinions as will be conducive to the building up of a purer and nobler womanhood in the world. June 10, 2021 ZTA eliminates its Legacy Policy National Council has announced that, effective immediately, Zeta Tau Alpha collegiate chapters will no longer give legacies preferential consideration during recruitment. The term "legacy" will continue to recognize the special relationship between Zetas and their sisters, daughters or grandmothers.
